Hawaii Radio Connection, a radio show in Seattle sent us their Top 10 Hawaiian Albums for 2012! Here’s our favorites from the list:

25 Greatest Highlights-Na Palapalai / Raiatea / Kuana Torres Kahele
Na Palapalai‘s, “Pili Kapekepeke” from their album “Makani `Olu`olu” is featured in Honolulu Magazine’s “The 25 Greatest Hawaii Albums of the New Century”.
The album ranked 2nd on the magazine’s list!
With the release of Makani `Olu`olu, “[Na Palapalai] were breathing life into these old hula compositions. There was a race-to-the-finish feel to a lot of their songs”-says panelist Keola Donaghy.
Raiatea Helm‘s song “Hu`i E” from “Sweet and Lovely” is featured in Honolulu Magazine’s “The 25 Greatest Hawaii Albums of the New Century”.
The album ranked 7th on the magazine’s list!
Raiatea’s “Sweet and Lovely” won four Hoku Awards and earned a Grammy nomination!

Kuana Torres Kahele‘s, “Waimanu I Ka Lauoha” from his album Kaunaloa is featured in Honolulu Magazine’s “The 25 Greatest Hawaii Albums of the New Century”.
The album ranked 4th on the magazine’s list.
Mountain Apple President, Leah Bernstein calls the album-“one of the most touching and complete Hawaiian albums released in the past 12 years.”
